Many individuals loved it when they are tanned even some of them are tanning while pregnant. And if you ask, is it safe? Well, to tell you the truth tanning while pregnant is not safe at all. These women should remember that the health of the baby is always the main priority.

There are many dangers of tanning while pregnant because of the effects it can produce to a pregnant woman and the baby itself. One effect is in the blood stream when the folic acid level decreases. We should remember that the folic acid is very important in the growth of the baby especially in the nervous system. The UV-B does not directly penetrate the baby inside but the side effect that it will give is through the mother.
Another dangerous effect is the fact that the pregnant woman is lying on her back at the tanning beds that could put pressure on the blood vessels thus, restricting the blood flow to the different organs of the mother which are connected to the fetus. It is also possible that the pregnant woman will be dehydrated which is very dangerous to both the mother and the child.
The most dangerous of all is when a pregnant woman would use the type of tanning bed that uses a similar machine to a microwave technology. This is very dangerous since the microwave follows the method of cooking inside out. So just imagine the effects it can generate to the unborn child. Tanning while pregnant may be very dangerous, but there are other ways like using a tanning spray. And if you really want to do it, consult your physician first so that you will know how it will affect you and your baby.
